Unboxing Your Elexoma Medic: First Steps
Switching it on.
Getting started with using the Elexoma is pretty simple.
Simply locate the large silver button in the middle of the device. The lower part of this button is for the power. Pressing this button will invite a shrill piercing noice. Don’t fear, this unique serenade means you are on the right track.
Well done.
If no beep is emanating from the hardware, check that the batteries are in and charged.
If this bold note is not your cup of tea, you can stop the sound by short-pressing the button again after it starts up. This will cut it off in its crescendo.
You’re welcome.
Switching off
Welcome to the 21st century, where we are slowly losing the interest to switch things off.
In all seriousness, there is no off button. The device automatically powers off after not being in use for around 30 seconds, for one thing, the ease of operation is what is the most important.
Display
On first sight, the display might seem a little intimidating, but the important thing is that you only have to look at a few things, so the rest of the confusing things can be largely ignored by the user.
Program settings
For this, we will be running through the programs by pressing the middle button again. This time, however, we won’t be pressing the power button, but the top half to cycle through the various pre-set programs.
There are 8 of them already programmed into your device when you start it up. You could add custom ones, but for this entry, I’ll stick to the presets.
With every press of the preset button, you will see a different number next to the countdown timer, with the different count-down times respectively.
Programs
More on the presets in the user manual, pg 11.
To save you some difficulty, basically, program 1 is for CES and the rest are for MET but you can feel free to play around with this. Besides, this is just a broad rule of thumb.
I would highly recommend you check out the full manual, or at least the other posts about it at some point.
Countdown timer
As already discussed, the timer is already set to the respective program and you can basically just plug and play and when you start the program, (by pressing the power button again) the timer will start the countdown.
The timer displays the minutes and seconds left during the program.
Also, if you stop the treatment, (by pressing the power button once more) the device will give you a short double beep to herald this change and the timer will reset back to the default value.
Intensity
This is displayed in the bottom right corner of your screen.
After you start your treatment, the default intensity is at 10 uAmp.
You can toggle this intensity by pressing either the Vol up or Vol down buttons next to the power button on the right of your device to either push the intensity of the treatment up a little, or pull it back down.
Battery
This icon is displayed right above the intensity and next to the countdown timer on the right.
You start out with around 15 hours of treatment use after a single charge. But don’t rely solely on the icon on your display. Try recharging around once a month or every 3 weeks, depending on how often you use the Elexoma Medic.
Plugging in the leads
There are two outlet channels in the top left corner of the device and you can use either of them The Elexoma Medic will detect which channel is in use and responds to either automatically.
The reason for there being two outlets is for when you want to treat two areas at the same time. Again, you plug it in one way only.
And, very important: if you are using both outlets, remember to double the output intensity. This means that if you want to treat two areas with 500 milliamps, you need to set the intensity to 1000 ua or milliamps.
Starting the program
Again, after you have located the program you are interested in treating with, you can select that program and start it by pressing the power button again, the bottom half of the middle button.
This will allow the countdown to begin.
(Once more, if you want to stop the treatment, you just press that same button again, there is no pause.)
Increasing the current
Remember, you can only do this after you have started the treatment, or when the countdown has started.
At the beginning of the treatment, the Elexoma Medic is set to 0, this means it is not doing anything. To set the intensity, you press the volume arrow up button located to the right of the power button.
The arrow will increase in increments of 10 milliamps at a time until 200 ua, then it will jump in steps of 50 ua at a time. This will cause a lot of beeping, and you can also long press the same button to jump more quickly.
What’s more, the arrow down will have the opposite effect.
What intensity should you use after unboxing your Elexoma Medic?
Here’s the deal, most of the studies were done using CES at 100 or, 200 ua.
Fun fact, the human skin can’t generally feel the treatments at these very low levels. This was useful to be able to test it against a placebo and a control group to make sure that the findings were trustworthy. The power of positive thinking…
This means that you could realistically even get great results from CES at 200 ua, but you can also ramp up the tingle if you so please. This depends totally on you.
Optimally, you should increase the intensity until you can only just feel the tingling sensation and then remain at this level.
Treatment duration
As with the intensity, you can only set the duration once the treatment has started.
You can toggle the duration with the up and down arrows to the left of the power button. I would suggest you can just trust the program’s preset times for your treatment.
It is enough to use the Elexoma Medic once a day, with some medical professionals swearing by half an hour, once a week while still getting dramatic results.
More treatment information
If you feel like you would benefit from longer treatments, you will gain better results from treating periodically for multiple times a day, rather than one long treatment.
Once you boost your cells, you should allow them to use the charge effectively before boosting them again, that way, you can live your best.
If you are using the Elexoma Medic while you study, this is a wonderful way to keep your focus and creates a fertile bed ready to receive fresh memories and store them for longer.
However, you should use the device at a lower level when using it for studying, 100 milliamps for an hour or more will be beneficial.
CES electrodes
The CES electrodes are fitted with clamps that fix over the soft parts of your ear (think where earrings would go).
Make sure to remove any earrings in that area as this will interfere with your comfort and might influence the treatment.
Before clipping the electrodes to your ears, you should wet the little cloth disks at the ends with water- preferably salt water, but it’s not a dealbreaker.
You need a wet conduit for it to be able to make contact with your skin. Leave the little felt pieces dry and there will be no treatment. Furthermore, partially wet conduits will mean that the surface area will be reduced. This could also cause a stinging sensation.
The white cloth pieces are only there for your comfort and you don’t need them to be effective.
MET electrodes
The MET electrodes are the sticker-looking things with attached cables.
It is very important to handle these with care to make them last longer.
Here’s a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, you don’t shouldn’t wet them before use, secondly, always replace them on the plastic leaf they came in when they are not in use.
Also, never pull on or pick them up by the tail, they could become loose and ineffective with abuse. You can peel them off by the corner with a finger.
In addition, make sure the electrodes don’t touch when you apply them to your body.
As a failsafe, a short-circuit will mean no treatment.
Beeps and whistles
There could be many things prompting a shout from your Elexoma Medic.
If the circuit is broken, your device will give a loud beeping noise. This will also happen if the treatment lead isn’t plugged in properly or if the electrodes are loose, damaged, or dry.
Also, there will be a little icon flashing underneath the battery on the right of the display.
If your device becomes vocal again when you increase the intensity past 200, simply reposition the electrodes and ensure they are plugged in properly.
Optimal treatment times
This will depend totally on you.
Most people find the Elexoma Medic most convenient to use in the morning during breakfast or their commute to work. If you feel that, for you, it works better at night, then that is a good option too, whatever fits your lifestyle.
If you want to carry the device hands-free, you have the option of using the belt pouch, but don’t if you feel it might jeopardise your social standing. (jk idk, tho)
It is also safe to continue your treatment while working on your electronics.
When starting your first treatment, sit back and relax in an armchair or somewhere you can wind down. This helps you investigate how your body reacts to CES.
Some reports include a faint flashing too. This falls into the range of normal. This is due to electrons depolarising the retina, this creates the brain to report a false image.
Driving while treatment is ongoing is at your own risk. No one recommends that.
